Playing this great new game is very simple.
You click the play button on the SpaceBattle homepage.
After that you will be transported to the chatroom, where you
can chat with others or decide to play a game.
If you only want to chat you just type some words in
the textbox and press enter, fun isn't it?
If you want to play a game, you have to click on an opponent.
The game will ask you if you want to invite the player for a game.
Press 'y' if you are sure, otherwise press 'n'.
If someone else invites you for a game, the game will show you a
message, telling you who is inviting you for a game.
If you wish to join his game, press 'y', otherwise press 'n'.
Once you are in the game, you will be able to talk only to your
opponent. You are in a private chatroom.
Both players will then be able to replace their ships
the way they want to. When you think your ships are placed well
enough to defeat your enemy, you click on Place Ships and you
are ready to play. If both players have placed their ships the
war begins. One of the players may begin shooting.
Both players start with five shots. For each ship which has been
destroyed by your enemy the number of shots you can fire will
be decreased by one. Your goal is to destroy the entire enemy fleet.
To replace your ships you have to click on one of them and then
move it with the arrow keys or with the 'A','W','D' and 'X' keys. You
can also rotate the ships with the 'R' key. Two ships can't be at
the same place. When a ship is placed diagonally it covers space
like this:
Two ships can however cross each other. Like this:
It's obvious that winning the war will strongly depend on the
positionning of your ships at the beginning of the game.
